Mr. David Segel, Chairman, Mpowermedia Worldwide, LLC and Co-Chairman, Mpower Media LLC

David Segel is the Founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Mako Group, a business which grew from a local derivatives trading firm to a market leader in European, exchange-listed derivatives trading. David founded and funded The Pelagus Fund, which has quickly grown to be a global leader in the fixed income, relative value strategy of hedge funds. In addition, he works in real estate development, both in the United States and London, and has founded or funded many retail, real estate and other commercial ventures. He is a keen investor in socially responsible projects and a patron of several dynamic missions organizations, including Hope HIV, Children in Crisis, and Youth with a Mission.

David Segel shared the Mpower founders’ passionate commitment to family entertainment which resulted in his initial investment that launched Mpower Media Worldwide.

 

Mr. Ken Ferguson, CEO and Director, Mpower Media, LLC

Before founding Mpower, Ken Ferguson served as Chief Operating Officer for National Geographic Television, which includes National Geographic Feature Films, National Geographic Channels Worldwide, Destination Cinema, Inc., and Explore International, the company’s international TV distribution arm. While at National Geographic, he launched the National Geographic TV Channel (now broadcasting in 27 languages and 152 countries, with over 230 million subscribers and a market valuation in excess of $2 billion) and managed its television studio, which produced hundreds of hours of Emmy-award-winning television programming. In addition, Ken was instrumental in developing the National Geographic Studio, which produced March of the Penguins, the most profitable film of 2005 and an Academy Award winning movie. Before National Geographic, Ken spent more than 25 years as a television executive with Dick Clark Television Productions (CFO), Dino Delaurentis Film Company, and as a consultant to the entertainment industry with Accenture (formerly Andersen Consulting). With Steve McEveety, he envisioned and launched Mpowermedia Worldwide in 2006. Ken has recruited and leads a world-class team of entertainment and technology experts in developing the Mpower Media technology.

 

Mr. Steve McEveety, CEO and Executive Producer, Mpower Pictures, LLC, and Director, Mpower Media LLC

Steve McEveety literally grew up in the entertainment industry. As a boy he appeared in episodes of the Golden Age TV series Gunsmoke, My Three Sons, and Star Trek, and was influenced by his father’s success as a writer, director, and producer of successful family entertainment films. He became an assistant director for Real Genius and An Early Frost, then production manager for films like The Trip To Bountiful, Flatliners, and Mel Gibson’s Forever Young. Steve also was associate producer of Hotshots.

Steve's more recent accomplishments include an exclusive producing deal with Icon Productions where he executive produced Leo Tolstoy’s Anna Karenina, Immortal Beloved, The Man Without A Face and Braveheart, which garnered ten Academy Awards nominations and won five, including Best Picture and Best Director. He is perhaps best known as the producer of The Passion of the Christ. Steve recently was executive producer of Bella, Mpower’s first branded film, which was released to critical acclaim in the fall of 2007 and won the prestigious “People’s Choice” Award at the Toronto International Film Festival. The Stoning of Soraya M also won the Toronto International Film Festival's People's Choice award.

Steve’s years of experience in quality film production is critical to the Mpower mission of providing positive and family friendly entertainment.

 
 

Mr. E. Peb Jackson, Director, Mpower Media LLC

Peb Jackson is the Vice President of Global Initiatives at Saddleback Church/Purpose Driven Ministries where he oversees the Ministry’s pioneering work in Africa, especially Rwanda. Before joining the Saddleback Church ministry, Peb’s leadership and drive helped secure the stability and spur the expansion of numerous charitable organizations. As a founding board member at Focus on the Family, Peb was an integral part of that organization for 13 years. In his role as Senior Vice President, Peb was responsible for Development, Public Policy Activities and International Expansion and helped make Focus on the Family one of the most influential family organizations in America. Peb also served as Executive Vice President for Generous Giving, an initiative of the Maclellan Foundation of Chattanooga, TN, and, beginning in 1994, as Senior Vice President of Public Affairs with Young Life in Colorado Springs, CO. During the Reagan and Bush Administrations, Peb was strategically involved on family policy issues, working with the White House, Congress, and various government agencies on issues important to families and the culture.

Peb Jackson’s years of experience inside some of the most influential family organizations in the country, makes him a tremendous asset to Mpower Media’s strategic planning and affiliate group outreach.

 

Rebecca Hagelin, Executive Vice-President, Mpower Media LLC

Rebecca Hagelin is a devoted mother of three and a respected champion of the pro-family message. For 25 years, she has educated parents and civic organizations on the media culture’s effect on families as well as the critical role parenting plays in protecting children from pop culture’s damaging messages. Hagelin is also the Senior Communications Fellow at The Heritage Foundation. She writes a weekly column for The Washington Times, "How To Save Your Family" and a weekly column for Townhall.com, PatriotPost.US and Crosswalk that explores social and cultural issues. She is the author of the acclaimed book, Home Invasion: Protecting Your Family in a Culture That's Gone Stark Raving Mad and 30 Ways in 30 Days to Save Your Family. Hagelin began her career in 1983 as public relations director for the Center for Judicial Studies and Benchmark magazine. In 1986, she joined the national management team of Concerned Women for America as director of communications. In 2007 the Clare Boothe Luce Policy Institute named Hagelin one of the 12 "Great American Conservative Women." She serves on the board of directors/advisors for many family related organizations around the country. In her current role as Spokeswoman for Mpower Media, Hagelin will lead the effort in helping concerned parents get the Mpower Media technology in their homes.

 
 

Mr. Martin Schulman, Chief Technology Officer, Mpower Media LLC

Martin Schulman comes to Mpower after more than twenty years in the telecommunications industry, and brings valuable experience in product development, product release and support, and personnel management. He has designed and built networks and servers at Cisco Systems, Sprint International, SURAnet, and The Pittsburgh Supercomputing Center. He architected Video On Demand services at Bell Atlantic (now Verizon), and developed network management and security software at BBN Communications and for the start up Netcordia. Joining Juniper Networks as a consulting engineering before they shipped their first product, Marty left seven years later as their Federal Chief Technologist. During that time, he managed the growth of Juniper’s engineering staff in North America, which reached a peak of 60 engineers as annual company revenues climbed to over $2 billion. Mr. Schulman holds two patents, is co-author of a book, is a Senior IEEE Member, and has served as an expert witness.
